Can you believe that the school year is almost over? You're probably planning a summer vacation, right? Maybe you're also planning for out-of-town guests that will stay at your home? And, it might be that summertime is when you love to invite friends and extended family members over for dinner outside. With out-of-town company and entertaining at home, you're more than likely considering that you want your house to look extra nice.
Maybe you're the type of person who gets up extra early to clean your house every single day. If so, you don't need to read a single other word. On the other hand, if you have realized that your house needs some extra spiffing up, read on for some ideas that might help you.
Make A Plan - How thoroughly do you want to clean? Will the project including organizing drawers, kitchen cabinets, and closets throughout the house? Or, maybe the house is well organized already and all you want to do is give it a thorough cleaning.
If part of your house project includes organizing, think of asking each of your family members to go through their personal belongings so that they can get rid of things that aren't used or wanted anymore. Consider buying see-through plastic containers so that the things they keep can be organized. For example, buy a container that can slip right under each person's bed. That will be a great place to keep things like school memorabilia and photo albums.
Get your family to help on the cleaning part, too. Even really young kids can do things like wiping off baseboards. In fact, they'll probably think it's a ton of fun. Assign chores according to ability. For example, your older kids can more than likely help to wipe out and organize kitchen drawers and cabinets while the little ones are doing the baseboards. You and your spouse can assist the kids while they're working, of course.
Call On Professionals - Consider things you can't do yourself. For example, maybe you have vacuumed and even cleaned the carpets in your house, but you know that, while they might look okay, they aren't really deep-cleaned. Professionals will have the training and the equipment to thoroughly clean the carpets throughout your house. If there are any stains, they will more than likely be able to remove the stains or to minimize their appearance.
The great thing about professional carpet cleaning is that it's probably more affordable than you thought it would be. Consider asking the carpet cleaners to return to your home on a regular basis. Once a month would be great. However, even quarterly carpet cleaning would mean that your carpets will be well maintained.
